Classic Mercedes-Benz cars shine at Goodwood
The 1930 Mercedes-Benz 710 SSK ‘Trossi Roadster’ shone as a clear winner of the Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ design competition at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this month.
Imported from the Ralph Lauren Car Collection, the Mercedes-Benz was a huge hit of the event having previously been owned by Count Trossi.
The car is the only one of its kind and also appeared alongside another class winner from Mercedes-Benz.
The 1927 680 S Torpedo Roadster, owned by Miguel Gonzelez, is one of the most distinctive classic cars around.
Judges picked their favourite classic motors, often relying on purely aesthetic judgements due to their lack of motoring knowledge.
From all areas of the creative world, each judge brought an individual aspect to the competition with Chris Evans, the radio and television personality, one of the famous names.
Also lending their views on the classic motors were acclaimed architect Sir Norman Foster and Roger Taylor from the band Queen.
See classic cars on display everyday at Mercdes-Benz World and the nearby Brooklands Motoring Museum.
