Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet a car for “four seasons”
December 21st, 2009Motorists looking for a car that suits being driven in all seasons may find what they are looking for with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet, it has been stated.
Joseph Dunn writes in the Times that the fourth instalment of the E-Class family includes a "nifty" system that allows motorists to drive with the top down on their vehicle for almost the entire year.
The AIRCAP system works by changing the way that the outside air flows around the cabin when the cabriolet is driven with the roof down.
This is aided by the inclusion of a draught-stop between the rear seat headrests and a spoiler on top of the windscreen to keep the colder air above the line of the vehicle.
Motorists will be able to get their first glimpse of the vehicle in action when it is launched at the Detroit Motor Show next month before going on sale in March.
In terms of performance, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet has a top speed of 143 miles per hour, while 53.3 miles to the gallon can be achieved on the combined cycle.
Meanwhile, safety is another key feature of the vehicle, which is shown by a range of innovative systems and seven airbags, including the introduction of headbags for the first time.
