Mercedes Formula 1 team in partnership with Kangaroo TV

The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 team has signed an exciting new deal with Kangaroo Media, which promises unprecedented coverage of the two young drivers.

Team-branded Kangaroo TV sets will offer live video, audio and data during races, allowing guests of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes to track the team’s drivers as they battle for a place on the podium.

“The signature Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Kangaroo TV sets are a first in the Formula 1 paddock and a forward-thinking move by the team, so their guests can follow the entire race better,” said Alain Charette from Kangaroo.

“From any point on the circuit, their guests will have access to live in-car cameras to follow Alonso and Hamilton around the track and listen to live driver and team communications, all from a lightweight TV set in the palm of their hand.”

Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton are currently tied with Kimi Raikkonen at the top of the drivers’ league table and both are attracting phenomenal media attention. Hamilton, in particular, has emerged as the rising star of Formula 1, thanks to dazzling performances in Australia, Malaysia and Bahrain.

Ron Dennis, from Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, is satisfied that guests will be delighted with the enviable access to the team, cars and drivers.

He pointed out that the TV sets will be “tailored to monitor and highlight the data available for Fernando and Lewis”, allowing guests to observe “everything out on the circuit and better understand how it affects out race and strategy”.

The MP4-22 car, unveiled at the start of the season, has impressed hugely during the first three races, allowing Alonso and Hamilton to confirm themselves as genuine challengers for this year’s championship.
