Mercedes-Benz launches internet television
July 10th, 2007Mercedes-Benz has pledged to set new standards for internet television with the launch of a brand new service.
Beginning with a live report from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin on July 12th, Mercedes-Benz TV will broadcast in both German and English, with a weekly news magazine hosted by Tanja Bulter.
The 20-minute update will include snippets of news, facts and background information about Mercedes, updating brand enthusiasts about the very latest developments.
Mercedes-Benz TV will also include round-the-clock programming on the service’s five web channels, covering lifestyle, cars, engines & sports, history & legends and innovation. Those attending Mercedes-Benz events at auto shows will also gain access to Mercedes-Benz TV in due course.
"Mercedes-Benz TV opens up a new and very emotional communication channel for our customers and anyone interested in the brand," said Dr Olaf Goettgens, vice president of brand communications with Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars.
"Our internet television service sets new standards in terms of content and design, while using video images to convey the fascination and legends that surround the brand with the star."
Excitement has been escalating ahead of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin and Mercedes-Benz TV will capitalise on this with a primetime presentation of Power Meets Fashion.
Top drivers including Lewis Hamilton and Klaus Ludwig will be filmed in vintage and modern Mercedes-Benz cars between Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column as part of this unique coming together of genres.
The broadcast will additionally include an interview with Eva Padberg, the Mercedes-Benz brand ambassador, who is also the face of the Berlin fashion event. Legendary German footballer Oliver Bierhoff will also contribute to this dedicated fashion tribute.
Based on an intuitive system, Mercedes-Benz TV will be extremely easy to operate and users can expect 60 minutes of programming on each channel when the service is launched.
