Mercedes-Benz World exceeds expectations
Since opening in October last year, Mercedes-Benz World has attracted 306,698 people, exceeding its target.
Located at the famous Brooklands circuit it is the world’s largest automotive brand experience centre and hoped to attract 300,000 people in its first year.
To celebrate its birthday the centre will be hosting special events during October and November for guests and member of the local Surrey community.
Peter O’Halloran, managing-director of Mercedes-Benz World, was proud of what the centre had achieved.
"We promised that Mercedes-Benz would bring ‘Autotainment’ to the UK and we have certainly delivered on that commitment.
"The blend of heritage, brand attractions and being able to actually get behind the wheel of our cars has proven a very successful formula."
At the centre of the world is an impressive three-storey building, home to a world on interactive experiences such as a 3D simulator ride and an interactive problem solving lab.
A hands-on driving circuit and an off-road terrain course entertain adults while children can try to join the 11,212 others who have already received a unique motoring qualification from the Stars Driving Club.
"We will be looking to bring new attractions and events on board during 2008, and our site at Brooklands will be going from strength to strength," added Mr O’Halloran.
