Hamilton focussed in build-up to German Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton is fully focussed on claiming victory in Vodafone McLaren Mercedes’ second home Grand Prix of the season at Hockenheim this weekend.
Despite his thrilling win in the rain at Silverstone, Hamilton said he still feels under pressure to produce the results.
"Pressure always exists because you need to win consistently… But you can never get complacent and we’ll be pushing hard again in Germany next week," he explained.
Hamilton was fastest in both his testing sessions at Hockenheim last week and the 23-year-old will be hoping to carry his form into a circuit he is fond of.
"There’s a bit of everything around here and it’s quite fun to throw the car into some of the high-speed corners," he said.
He also revealed that the MP4-23 felt "awesome" at the moment and was confident in how well the car was progressing.
Martin Whitmarsh, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes chief operating officer, said that the car was developing well but certain "imperfections" needed to be ironed out.
