smart fans given chance to share views via new website
July 1st, 2009Owners and fans of the smart fortwo have been given the chance to join a new community and interact through the launch of a new website.
By visiting destinationsmart.co.uk, guests will be able to upload videos, participate on forums and read a host of news stories giving information on topics such as eco-driving.
Registration to the website is free and people are also given the chance to talk directly with smart through an ‘Ask an Expert’ function.
By asking questions via the facility, enthusiasts can expect a personal reply from smart, with the company benefitting by understanding more of the wants and needs of its followers.
Dermot Kelly, Managing Director at Mercedes-Benz UK, said: “smart is an iconic car which has a large fan-base: the smartclub in the UK for example has more than 30,000 members.
“We know from research that smart owners and enthusiasts like interacting online and it’s a valuable opportunity for us to get first hand insight into how our brand is perceived.”
Meanwhile, smart also recently received a £2.5 million grant from the Technology Strategy Board to enhance its research into creating electric cars for the future.
