Kovalainen looking forward to Russian demonstration
July 3rd, 2009Heikki Kovalainen is particularly looking forward to an upcoming trip to Russia as part of a Formula One demonstration in the country.
The Finn is to demonstrate a World Championship-winning Vodafone McLaren Mercedes around the perimeter of the Kremlin on July 19th, with thousands of fans expected to be in attendance to watch the performance.
Kovalainen said: "I’m really looking forward to the demonstration in Russia.
"Moscow is one of the world’s most magnificent cities and this opportunity to showcase Formula One machinery to so many people, and in such an amazing place, is an incredible opportunity."
Meanwhile, earlier this year talks were announced about the possibility of a Russian Grand Prix being added to the Formula One calendar for the 2010 season.
Reports suggest that the race will take place near St Petersburg on a purpose-built track that is yet to be constructed.
The next race of the present season is the German Grand Prix which is set to take place on July 12th at the Nurburgring.
