When 6,000 UK shoppers were asked which brands they would recommend most to their friends or colleagues – guess who came out on top?
With a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 66% Mercedes-Benz ranked second (just behind haircare brand Kerastase with 80%) outdoing the likes of Apple iPhone in third place (60%), Cohiba in sixth (57%) and Audi in ninth (52%).
Calculated by the percentage of people rating the brand highly on a scale of 1–10, minus the percentage of those rating it between 0-6 – the NPS is a good indicator of consumer attitudes in the UK.
Bain & Company, the authors of the report, say that advocates such as family, partners, friends and experts are the single-most important influence on brand choice. So all in all, we’re delighted to be rated one of the UK’s top 10 most advocated brands – second to premium haircare of course!

Accelerating the growth of electric mobility in China – Daimler AG and BYD Company Limited have announced details of a new joint venture, Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology Co. Ltd (BDNT).
With plans to launch a fully electric mid-sized car by 2013, BDNT confirmed that the concept model will make its first public appearance at next year’s Auto China in Beijing.
The 50:50 research and technology partnership combines Daimler’s extensive know-how in electric vehicle architecture and safety, with BYD’s expertise in battery technology and e-drive systems. With production based in Shenzhen, manufacturing will be guided by Daimler’s long-standing philosophy of precision engineering and quality management systems.
United in their vision of a greener future, BDNT believe that China, with its many metropolitan areas, has the potential to be among the world’s largest markets for zero-emission vehicles.
If you’ve been reading our blog posts then you’ll know how eagerly we are anticipating the release of the new Mercedes-Benz B-Class. In fact we’re so eager to talk about it, we thought it was worthwhile taking a closer look at one of its most impressive features; its aerodynamics.
In fact, upon release the new look B-Class is expected to set a new aerodynamic benchmark for its market segment with a sensational drag coefficient of cd = 0.26 – making this, along with the E-Class Coupé, the slipperiest car in world.
The muscular, linear definition of the B-Class is about more than just aesthetics – the exterior design has been carefully calculated with numerous measures contributing to the overall design. Refined using complex computer calculations and flow simulations – it has been estimated that models and prototypes of the new B-Class spent around 1,100 hours in the wind tunnel.
Unbelievably, with the optional added ECO Technology package, the B-Class can even match up to the renowned world-class aerodynamic performance of the E-Class Coupé achieving a breathtaking drag coefficient of cd = 0.24.
And what does good aerodynamics mean for you? Improved fuel consumption and reduced C02 emissions, and a sleek and stylish design.
The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class was revealed to the world for the very first time at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, on 13 September 2011.

It takes years to develop a new car, but the best part is when we can reveal it to the world and hear the first reactions from the public. Finally we can start talking publically about the new B-Class and sharing the excitement that’s been building across the company for some time.
The new B-Class is undoubtedly sportier than the older model but in its evolution the past has not been forgotten. Still at the heart of the car is the style and versatility inherited from its predecessor.
Looks wise, this new version is less MPV, more sports tourer, with a lower roofline and an estate style rear.
One of the most striking differences has to be the car’s interior. There is no doubt that the quality of materials used and the overall finish inside the B-Class establishes it beyond the sector’s competition. You can’t help but feel there is a sense of playfulness throughout the B-Class with a host of technology being borrowed from the larger models.
Bold, sleek and athletic we believe the new B-Class defines the future of Mercedes-Benz.
