Get ready for winter – Cold Weather Tyres

Winter is on its way, and if last year’s roads are anything to go by – we’re in for a rough ride. At Mercedes-Benz safety has always been top of our priority list and that’s why we’re recommending you switch your tyres for a set of Mercedes-Benz Cold Weather Tyres.
Produced with higher levels of natural rubber, winter tyres remain supple at temperatures below 7°C providing much better grip and handling on wet, icy and snow-covered roads.
Compared to standard warm weather tyres, trials performed at 15 mph showed that
Cold Weather Tyres reduce braking distances for cars by 10 percent in the wet, up to 15 percent on icy roads and as much as 50 percent on snowy surfaces. Similarly, cornering tests demonstrated far greater control and stability – reducing chances of a potentially hazardous skid by 39 percent.
Added to the fact that Cold Weather Tyres offer up to 20 percent better wear rates in winter – switching tyres seasonally makes sense in more ways than one.
