Rosberg outlines ambition for 2011 Formula One season
February 9, 2011
Mercedes GP PETRONAS driver Nico Rosberg has revealed his determination to compete nearer the front of the grid throughout the 2011 Formula One season.
Speaking at the launch of the new Silver Arrow car, Rosberg explained that he is eagerly looking forward to the start of the new season.
“It is always a very exciting time of year to drive the new car for the first time and feel how it performs out on track,” Rosberg commented.
He added: “I am very much looking forward to having a much stronger season than last year and as always, our targets are aggressive. We want to be competing at the front and challenging for race wins.”
This echoes claims made recently by team-mate Michael Schumacher, who insisted that the Mercedes GP PETRONAS team is steadily building towards “something big”.
Having failed to record a podium finish in 2010, Schumacher said he is confident of achieving a top three place at least once this year.
