Rosberg takes on triathlon challenge
April 27, 2011
Mercedes GP PETRONAS driver Nico Rosberg has become the latest Formula One(tm) driver to volunteer to compete in a triathlon.
Rosberg, who led the recent Chinese Grand Prix for sustained periods before he ultimately finished in fifth, headed to the South of France to shake off the disappointment.
“On Easter Sunday I’m doing a triathlon with some friends in Nice, which is exciting,” said Rosberg, referring to the Nice-Cote d’Azur.
Meanwhile, team-mate Michael Schumacher revealed his delight at securing an eighth-place finish in the Chinese Grand Prix.
The German employed a three-stop strategy to add four points to his season tally.
Speaking after the race, Schumacher said that he is “pleased to see the hard work of our guys paid off this weekend”.
“We are heading towards the first race in Europe now and will bring some upgrades to Istanbul which should help us to improve even more. It is good to leave Asia with a positive feeling,” he added.
