Schumacher sixth quickest in testing
March 28, 2011
Mercedes GP PETRONAS driver Michael Schumacher recorded the sixth fastest time in practice for the Australian Grand Prix.
Schumacher recorded a time of 1 minute 28.690 seconds to finish four places above team-mate Nico Rosberg, who completed the circuit in 1 minute 27.448 seconds.
Speaking after practice, Schumacher said: “My first impressions of the 2011 season are quite positive.”
He added: “We learned a lot today, and are more or less where we thought we would be, although it was quite windy and tricky to drive. We will sort out some issues on our car for the rest of the weekend but I am still happy with what we have seen here so far.”
In other news, it was confirmed recently that Mercedes-AMG will provide the Official Formula One Safety Car and the Official Formula One Medical Car during the 2011 season.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and C 63 AMG Estate are responsible for ensuring maximum safety in dangerous racing situations or following an accident.
