Mercedes-Benz reveals ‘hottest version’ of new C-Class Coupé
March 29, 2011
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the “hottest version” of its new C-Class Coupe, a report appearing in What Car? magazine has noted.
The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG will go on sale this summer, according to the magazine, which added that prices will start at around £58,000.
The vehicle is also available with a performance pack that boosts output to 480 brake horse power.
What Car? explained: “The ‘lesser’-powered version accelerates from 0-62 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds, while the slightly lighter and more powerful car knocks 0.1 seconds off that time.
“Both cars have a limited top speed of 155 miles per gallon, emissions of 280g/km and will do an average of 23.5 miles per gallon.”
Furthermore, both vehicles boast a seven-speed automatic gearbox, while the performance pack car gets new engine parts and a lightweight crankshaft.
Meanwhile, Autocar claimed recently that the next-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class will have hybrid technology on virtually every model.
Citing sources within Mercedes-Benz, the publication explained that this decision has been taken in an effort to drive average fuel consumption down to “supermini levels”.
